Thank You All!

We would like to thank all of you for so warmly welcoming us to Gloria Dei. We have been overwhelmed by your kindness & generosity towards us these past few weeks. We are looking forward to meeting each of you personally, & we are eager to begin working with the youth. We would love to hear from all of you (youth, parents, & general congregation) about your ideas for growing & improving our Youth Program at Gloria Dei. We’d also like to encourage each of you to attend the Youth Group Launch Meeting on January 8th.

ADVENT DINNER UPDATE!

Many thanks to everyone who helped to make our Advent Dinner such a success! Especially to all of the guilds who provided the desserts and side dishes, everything was so delicious! We served over 180 people and collected over $600.00 from the meal to send to Peace Lutheran Church in Joplin! In addition, the basket auction made $751.00 for the high school youth to attend the National Youth Gathering in New Orleans next summer. Thank you congregation for being so generous and a big thanks to Kris and Jan Knuth for organizing the auction!

Anyone who attended the dinner knows that we were without water and could not complete our cleanup. A HUGE thank you to David Shriner for coming in Monday morning and washing all of the dishes and pots and pans!!! Love you dad!! -Kelly Shriner

 

 

Support our Youth - Buy Dillon’s Dollars

Youth will be in the fellowship hall selling Dillon’s dollars after the 8:30 service as well as before and after the 11:00 service every Sunday. Each youth is expected to help with fundraisers including Dillon’s Dollars if they plan on participating in youth activities. Youth receive 4% of every dollar sold.

 

 

Youth Committee Mission:

This committee shall oversee the Christian instruction, service and fellowship relating to the youth of this congregation and community. This committee shall be responsible for, but not limited to;

·         The recruitment and support of adult leaders for youth.

·         Providing youth opportunities to participate in Christian ministry programs such as camps, retreats, etc.

·         Insuring there are sufficient opportunities for service to the community.

·         Assisting and supporting the Youth Coordinator.

·         Fulfilling the roll of Youth Coordinator, should the position become vacant.

·         Working with the Christian Education and Music Director(s) concerning youth related curriculum and music opportunities relating to worship participation.
