From the Pastor
Lent is a time for those who are new to the faith to be instructed in
preparation for Holy Baptism. For those already baptized, Lent is a time to be
renewed in the covenant God made with us in Holy Baptism. Toward that end, in
addition to the increased worship opportunities in Lent, you are invited to
utilize the traditional Lenten disciplines of fasting, prayer, and almsgiving.
For help in considering what might be a spiritually beneficial Lenten discipline
for you, we have a useful booklet written by Lutheran pastor, Thomas L. Weitzel,
entitled A Handbook For The Discipline Of Lent. This booklet is available
in the Narthex and in the church office.
