Music at Gloria Dei

You are invited to give a gift of time and service and be part of the musical life of Gloria Dei:
Children's Choir and Chimes (1st-5th grade)
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 5:30-6:00 p.m.
The children's choir and chimes rings and sings the second Sunday of the month at the 11:00 Eucharist. The choir will participate in Advent Vespers, Christmas Eve, and Holy Week Services.
Carillon Youth Bells (Upper Elementary and Middle High Students)
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 6:00-6:20 p.m.
Carillon Youth Bells rings the second Sunday of the month at the 11:00 Eucharist and will ring at Advent Vespers, Christmas Eve, and during Holy Week.
Jubilate Youth Bells (Middle High and High School Students)
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 6:20-6:45 p.m.
The youth bell choir rings the third Sunday of the month at the 11:00 Eucharist and will ring at Advent Vespers, Christmas Eve, and during Holy Week.
Gloria Dei Ringers (Adult Bell Choir)
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 6:45-7:30 p.m.
The adult bell choir rings the fourth Sunday of the month for both the 8:30 and 11:00 Eucharist in addition to special festival services.
Parish Choir (High School through adults)
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 7:30 -8:30 p.m.
The parish choir sings weekly for the 11:00 Eucharist on the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Sundays of the month and at the 8:30 Eucharist on the 2nd Sunday of the month. Additionally, the choir participates in special festival services.
Rehearsals: as announced, normally two one and one-half hour rehearsals for each dance. The Liturgical Dance group dances 4-5 times a year at major Sundays/Festivals. Open to Upper elementary-age girls through adult women (no upper age limit). Previous dance experience is not a requirement to participate.
Assisting Cantors are always welcome and assist the Director of Music in singing the psalm verses and other parts of the liturgy at the Sunday Eucharist.
Instrumentalists are invited to play preludes and offertories throughout the year, not just during the summer. Many of the choir anthems have parts for brass, woodwinds, strings, and percussion.
